Kayla Shaffner, MS, CCC-SLP, CPRCS
Hi I’m Kayla. I’m a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist, and this work is deeply meaningful to me–it’s where my experience, compassion, and purpose come together. It’s built on a foundation of experience and deep love for children–yours and mine.
I also have a passion for helping individuals of all ages live fuller, more connected lives through communication, Whether I’m supporting a child’s first words or helping an adult navigate changes in speech, cognition, or swallowing, my goal is always to pride care that’s personalized, evidence-based and centered on quality of life.
I have a background in psychology and prior experience of over 10 years working with children in daycare and preschool settings. Since earning my Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from California State University, Sacramento in 2016, I’ve had the opportunity to serve clients in both medical settings and private practice settings providing therapy to individuals of all ages–from birth onward.
My approach integrates traditional speech therapy with a holistic lens. I specialize in primitive reflex integration, individualized sensory support, and nervous system regulation. At Impact Speech Therapy, we always address root causes to support the whole person, fostering long-term growth and progress.
I’ve helped patients with executive function challenges/ADHD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy (CP), developmental delays, autism, dementia and dysphagia.
I’m a mom of two little boys in Chico, California and we have two bulldogs that we adore. We love being outdoors and exploring all the beauty that Chico and Butte County have to offer.
